Responsible Performance
The Brazilian Pharmaceutical Industry Federation (Febrafarma) came into existence officially on June 14, 2002.
It unites 15 representative entities for 267 pharmaceutical manufacturers, both domestic and foreign-owned, which operate in Brazil.
Febrafarma's mission is to promote coordinated action by its constituent entities, establishing a permanent and constructive dialogue with society and the government authorities responsible for the whole health area.
Its objective is to find solutions for topics that interest the pharmaceutical industry, taking into account Brazil's social reality. Febrafarma's actions obey a common and integrated strategy, established on the basis of a professional and legitimate model for representing its associates.
As the representative of the pharmaceutical industry as a whole, Febrafarma defends a fair and healthy industrial and business policy, with permanent market freedom to ensure the companies continuous, self-sustained growth. This conduct recognizes the population's health and well-being as fundamental questions for the Brazilian nation’s development and progress.
The entity works so that the pharmaceutical industry, on one hand, continues to offer quality products and services aimed at improving human health and, on the other, strengthens its social commitment, with a view to creating employment, paying taxes and adding value to that which it produces.
Febrafarma is committed to transparency in its actions and adopts a proactive stance in its communication with society, the market and the authorities.
The entity stimulates development of research into new medicines in the country, scientific initiatives which are innovative and relevant to society as well as organizing continuing medical education programs which ensure improved performance by these professionals. |
